Subrata De initiated the art of playing Hindustani Classical Music - Sitar at the tender age of seven under the guidance of Sri. Amarjeet Singh from Jamshedpur. With continuous learning, dedicated efforts and vigorous training for more than 10 years, he was able to learn different styles of Bishnupur Gharana. He is known for his music around the globe and has performed at the national and international levels with leading organizations and eminent personalities. For his outstanding performances across the world, he has received several awards such as Sangeet Praveen from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad and Sangeet Bhaskar from Pracheen Kala Kendra, National Scholarship from Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD, and has been selected by Indian Council for Cultural Relation for their panel of Musician and Teacher. Some of his works include meditation de la India, from PERU, LIMA, Insearch , Swaranjali, WATER INFURY, SHRUTI, FIVE elements, SA RANG, GANGA- journey called life, from HMV SAREGAMA, Bihaan Music, online streaming at Saavn, Twaang, Hungama.
