Dr. Rawail Singh is a Professor of Punjabi in Delhi University. He has a glorious professional journey with an experience of 35 years during which he has served as the Secretary of Punjabi Academy, Government of India and as a newsreader for All India Radio. He has a PHD from the Punjabi University, Patiala. His forte is Folk Drama and Dramatic Studies, Media Studies and Cinema Analysis, Folklore Studies and Medieval Literature. He is also a Nominated Member of the Governing Council (Vice Chancellors Nominee), SGND Khalsa College, University of Delhi. He is nominated as Member, Governing Council (Vice Chancellor Nominee), Mata Sundri College, University of Delhi, a nominated member of NET Examination Committee by CBSE and is nominated as an expert by UGC for grant of major research projects and Emeritus Fellowship. He is also appointed as Subject expert of language faculty by Punjabi University, Patiala. He has edited and co edited many books and translated books as well. He has organised cultural festivals at a massive scale to celebrate Indian culture and heritage. He is also the supervisor and advisor for many M Phil and PHD students. He has also produced and directed various documentaries on Punjabi literature and culture. With such a vast canvas of work behind him, Dr Rawail Singh has been honoured by academic as well as cultural bodies in India.
