Vishwanath is a professional performing artist and a qualified teacher of Odissi Classical Dance and an actively-performing male dancer representing the Odissi lineage of Padma Vibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, considered to be the architect of this art form in the 20th century. He is humble, dedicated to his art and confident in communicating to the audiences and students in workshops. He is also trained in Odissi Mardala (percussion instrument played mainly in Odissi Classical Dance), which enhances his command over the Dance. Vishwanath has been actively teaching for the past 10 years at Manasa Art without Frontiers, which aims to facilitate intersections between visual, performing & other art forms and foster understanding of the rich cultural and heritage of India. He is an empaneled artist for Indian Council for Cultural Research (ICCR), Graded Artist of Doordarshan (National TV Channel of India) and Senior scholarship holder by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
