Sri Aasif Hussain is a distinguished Bharatanatyam performing artiste, educator, and choreographer, nationally and internationally acclaimed for his mastery in the art form. Holding a B.P.A. and M.P.A. in Performing Arts (Bharatanatyam) from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh, he is an awardee of the National Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT). Trained under eminent Gurus such as Dr. Medini Hombal, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Guru Sri Premchand Hombal, Sri Ekkalak Nungeon from Bangkok, and Guru Sri K.P. Rakesh of Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai, he has been passionately practising and performing Bharatanatyam and other Indian classical dance forms for over a decade. His illustrious career includes performances and workshops across India and abroad, including the Yogyakarta International Dance Festival in Indonesia. Sri Aasif has conducted and participated in numerous workshops under renowned maestros and has been honored with several prestigious accolades, including the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Gyanpeeth Puraskar, Natraj Samman, Kala Ketaki Samman, Nrityashree Samman, Natya Ravali Samman, and Guru Samman from various cultural institutions. For him, dance is as essential as breath—an expression of life, spirit, and identity.
