Shivalika Kataria is a promising Kathak dancer of Jaipur Gharana. She received her training from Pt. Harish Sunderlal Gangani Ji and completed her Bachelor in Performing Arts as well as Master in Performing Arts under his tutelage. She was awarded Gold Medal in both the degree courses by Maharaja Sayaji Rao University, Vadodara. She is currently working as a repertory artist at Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. She pursued her further training under Guru Smt. Nandini Singh. As she is carrying forward this legacy, she has been trained under Guru Prerana Shrimali, who has polished her dance style. She is a Graded Artist in Delhi Doordarshan. She was also awarded a National Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She is a UGC-NET Qualified and is pursuing Ph.D. at Maharaja Sayaji Rao University, Baroda. As a soloist, she has performed at Kal Ke Kalakar Gandhinagar (Gujarat) and in Raindrops Festival, Mumbai which is organised by Guru Smt. Uma Dogra. She presented a solo performance in Dharohar Festival held at Indian Habitat Center, New Delhi. She performed in the IIC Spring Festival of Dance Passing on a tradition Guru-Shishya at India International Centre. One of her notable performances also includes a presentation at the convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Kathak at Shri Ram Centre, New Delhi. She gave her solo recital at Visesha Kala Poshakam Utsav, Narad Gana Sabha, Chennai. She has performed duet performances on prestigious stages organized by Delhi Kathak Kendra and has also presented a duet for the Centre for Indian Classical Dances of Padam Vibhushan Guru Sonal Mansingh Ji. Along with these, she has also participated in major productions under her Guru Prerana Shrimali. She has also worked with personalities such as Pt. Rajendra Gangani, Guru Jai Krishna Maharaj, Guru Krishna Mohan Mishra and Guru Veernala Jayarama Rao. She has given numerous performances abroad through ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) programs including the ones in Algeria, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Laos, Durham (UK) and many more.
