A dedicated Kathak dancer, Shikha Sharma exhibits a natural flair for the dance form. Her graceful moves, disciplined lines, rhythmic footwork, lively abhinaya along with her powerful presence on the stage is enthralling. She had the privilege of becoming one of the senior students of the very sensitive and astute interpreters of Kathak, guru Rani Khanam, who is a senior Kathak dancer and guru. Shikha has done her Masters degree from Khairagarh university, Chhattisgarh, and Visharad from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow. She has completed her Praveen from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. She is a graded artiste of Delhi Doordarshan and has won the Yuva Puraskar at the UP state competition organised by Sangeet Natak Aacademy, Uttar Pradesh. She is also an empanelled artiste of ICCR. Shikha has performed at prestigious festivals across India and overseas. Some of her major performances include the Indian Glorious Night Festival in Taiwan, Magic India Ramayana at Vladivostok, Russia, Festival of India, Qatar and a tour of 11 cities in Europe called Kathak the Story Teller. Her major Indian performances include the Gorakhpur Mahostav, Noor A Divine Grace, Delhi, Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav and Kumbh, Allahabad. Shikha has also performed at the Duet Kathak Festival with guru Rani Khanam and has been part of the ballet Veer Abhimanyu under her gurus choreography. She has also performed for Delhi Doordarshan for the New Year celebration, Antarang and has been a part of the performances for the National Human Rights Foundation, Old Fort festival and the Ganga Mahotsav with her guru.
