A Versatile Bharatanatyam (Initial 8yrs of training was in Bharatanatyam) and Kuchipudi artist of this generation, a performer, teacher, choreographer and Yoga practitioner, Rekha has mastered the art for the last three decades. Her initial training was at Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai and later with guru smt Manju Barggavee. She became a CCRT Scholarship holder at age 15 and is a graded Doordarshan artist. She is also an empanelled artist of Ministry of Culture for overseas festivals. Rekha has won many awards and performed in major festivals like Khajuraho, Uday Shankar festival, Hampi festival, Mysore Dasara festival, Lasya Utsav Hongkong and Soorya festival. Rekha has won the first prize at the state level competitions held by Sangeetha Nataka academy and won the 2nd prize in the South Central zone level. She has also choreographed and performed for one of the Telugu classic albums TENEY which released in 2017.
