Purnendu Bains has been learning classical music from the age of 2 from his father Shri Rattan Kumar who is an All India Radio performer. He learnt from renowned artists Vasant Rao Thakar ji, Vinod Kumar ji and Vinay Chander Maudgal ji. Purnendu has also had the privilege to learn from Padma Bhushan Abdul Rashid Khan Saheb at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy. At present he is learning from Guruji Padmashri Pt. Madhup Mudgal, Principal of Gandharva Mahavidhyalaya, Delhi. Purnendu has performed at various prestigious festivals across India including the National Cultural Festival, Indore and the Bikaner Art & amp and Literature Festival among others. He has been a regular performer at the All India Radio and Doordarshan Television.
