Praveen Parihar is presently working as a repertory artiste in Aasavri Dance Troup (The Shovana Narayan Dance Group). For the last 8 years, he is working as a Dance teacher in Chandrakala Music & Dance Academy and as a Dance Instructor in Music and Dance Academy for the last 6 years. He is the founder and director of Nirtyaangan Dance Institute. He pursued Visharad in Kathak from Prachin Kala Kendra in 2008 and completed Prabhakar in Kathak from Prayag Sangeet Samiti. He has done post-diploma in Kathak from the National Institute of Kathak Kendra under the guidance of Pt. Rajendra Gangani. He learnt Kathak for 7 years under guru Manish Gangani. He has performed in various festivals in India including the Kathal Mahotsav, Bodh Mahotsav, Vaishali Mahotsav Patna, Konark Festival, Jaipur Festival, Inderdhanush Festival, Delhi and many more. He performed a ballet Kabeer at Vansavtutsav, celebrating the 80th birthday of Pt. Birju Maharaj in February 2018 at Kamani Auditorium, Delhi. He has also travelled abroad for his work. His international tours include performances in Turkey, Ankara and Istanbul in September through the Ministry of Culture and the International festival (Janadriyan Festival) at Saudi Arabia, Riyadh in February 2018 through the Ministry of Culture. He recently did a solo performance for Air Indias one-year flight celebration in Denmark, Europe. He also performed in The Dream of Maritime Silk Road, 2nd Dance Art Exchange in China, choreographed by Pt. Rajendra Gangani. He has been awarded the Natraj Nritya Samman by Sarojini Cultural Organisation, Rupnarayanpur, Kolkatta in 2016. He has done a guest performance with Padmashree Shovana Narayans team for Dance Plus Season 4 (National Television Star Plus Show) as a part of the International Squad. He is an empanelled artiste of Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi. He is one of the scholars in Kathak Kendra and a graded artiste at Delhi Doordarshan. Recently he has been awarded the Pt. Arjun Mishra award.
