Nidhaga Karunad is a Kathak performer who has won the hearts of audiences around the nation. The initial training in YAKSHAGANA under Guru Sri Srinivasa Sastan of Karnataka Kala Darshini, Bangalore and several performances of that theatrical art sparked him to pursue the complex dance art of Bharatanatyam. He began his training under Karnataka Kalashree Guru Smt Dr. Suparna Venkatesh at Sai Arts International, Bangalore. He obtained senior certification and with distinction from Karnataka Secondary Board, Karnataka that partially fulfilled the necessity of academic accreditation encouraging him to pursue Master's Degree in Bharatanatyam from Bangalore University obtaining first class distinction marks. Nidhaga is now training in Kathak under Guru Sri Mysore B Nagaraj at Articulate Studios. Also, He was auditioned and selected to perform in the ensemble for Padmashree Awardee Guru Malavika Sarukkai's latest group production - Thari- The Loom. He performances across the country and his presentations in China, Egypt, United kingdom, Singapore, Mexico, Netherlands, USA and conducting workshops at Germany, Bremerhaven University Bremerhaven, Malaysia, and many other countries has been appreciated and applauded. He is a Graded artist at Doordarshan in Kathak and Bharatanatyam, Scholarship holder from Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy. His talent has awarded him with many titles such as Aralu Mallige Prashasthi, Karnataka Vibushana Prashasthi, Vivekananda Rajya Bala Prashasthi and Karunada Dhruva Thare Award.
