Mustafa Hussain is a well-known Tabla artiste of India. He received his initial schooling from his father Late Ustad Peer Bakhsh Khan, the eminent Shehnai Player of his time. At a tender age, he started learning Tabla in the Guru-Shishya Parampara under the auspices of Shri Vijay Kumar Thakur. For a short span of time, he had the privilege of learning Tabla from the famous Tabla Maestro Ustad Allah Rakha Khan saheb in a workshop held at Patna in 1985. Currently, he is under the tutelage and able guidance of Pandit Subhas Nirwan in Delhi. He has B.A (Hons) degree in Sociology. His musical qualification includes Sangeet Prabhakar (B.MUS) & Bhaskar (M.MUS). He has accompanied with the leading artistes of India including Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt (Mohan Veena, Jaipur), Pandit Birju Maharaj (Kathak Dance, Delhi), Vidosisrimati Gitanjli Lal (Kathak Dance, Delhi), Ustad Shekhawat Hussain Khan (Vocal, Rampur), Pandit Bhola Nath Mishra (Vocal, Delhi), Late Shri Balram Lal Ji (Kathak Dance Patna), Pandit Harish Tiwari (Vocal, Delhi), Pro. Utpal Samant (Vocal, Dehradun), Pandit Shyamdas Mishra (Vocal), Mr. Sanjay Guha (Sitar, Kolkata), Mr. Madhukar Anand (Kathak Dance, Delhi), Shri Abhimanyu Lal (Kathak Dance, Delhi), Vidosi Vidha Lal (Kathak Dance, Delhi), Neellima Nila (Ghazal singer, Mumbai), Sita Ram Singh (Vocal), Dr. Kumar Anand (Vocal, Patna), Mujtaba Hussain (Flutist, Patna), Kailash Chandra Patra (Violinist, Orissa), Pt. Santosh Kumar Nahar, Pandit Balram Dubey (Jal Tarang, Delhi) Musical Experience: He has the experience of Rhythm arrangement in music albums, accompaniment with Classical Vocalists, Classical Instrumentalists, Kathak Danceers and artistes pf Light music, Western & Folk Music. He has also performed in various programs of Doordarshan and All India Radio as an accompanist Tabla player.
