Born on 15th November 1949 in a family of musician, Mukund Kshirsagar started learning Hindustani Classical at a tender age from his father Pandit B N Kshirsagar, a veteran vocalist of Gwalior Gharana and his uncle Pandit Yashwant, a disciple of Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj. He is fortunate to receive the blessings and guidance of Pandit Jasraj as well. Influenced by the lucidity and simplicity of the Gwalior gharana and the Bhaav paksha of Mewati Gharana, he evolved his own style of singing. Mukund Kshirsagar is a full-time musician, musicologist and a performing artiste of Hindustani Classical music having the experience of many live concerts in India and abroad. He has also given vocal support to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and Pandit Jasraj at various places in addition to his vocal support to his father and uncle. Mukund K Sagar is an MA, Sangeet Alankar. He has also completed his Sangeet Bhaskar. He has received a scholarship from the Snageet Natak Academy, Rajasthan and is an approved artiste of the All India Radio. Among the various awards he has received, some major ones include Surmani Singar Samsad, Mumbai and the Swar Shree by the Abhinav Shikhsha Samiti Banswara. He has given various prestigious performances including the Tansen Festival, Gwalior, Arya Durga Mandir, Kankauli, Khan sahib Abdul Kareem Khan Punya Tithi Sangeet Mahotsav, Miraj, Soor Sampada, Bombay, Wadi Utsav Samiti, Baroda, Navratra Sangeet Mahtosav, Miraj, Kala Academy, Panjim, Gujarat Sangeet Sammelan, Adipur, Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan, Bombay, Yuva Sangeet Sammelan, I. So. Radio Corpn. USA and many more.
