Minu Garu is a Kathak performer and a teacher. She is a senior disciple of renowned guru Pt. Krishan Mohan Mishra Maharaj (Son of late Pt. Shambhu Maharaj Ji) of Lucknow Kalka-Bindadin gharana. She received her initial training in Kathak from Shri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra, under the guidance of guru Km. Shikha Khare. Later she continued her training under the precious guidance of renowned Pt. Krishan Mohan Mishra Maharaj Ji in Kathak Kala Kendra. She completed her foundation, Diploma and post Diploma courses from Kathak Kendra with first division. She completed Masters in Kathak from Kahiragarh University. She completed Visharad and Nipun from Bhatkhande University, Lucknow. In academics, she completed her graduation in B.COM from Delhi University. She received scholarship from Kathak Kendra and is National scholarship holder from Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Professional Experience Fortunate to learn Kathak of Lucknow Gharana classical dance style under the precious guidance of Shri Krishna Mohan Mishra Maharaj, she is working as a responsible member of Abhyas an association of art, culture and social welfare. She has also worked in choreographies of famous Kathak dance exponents including Krishan Mohan Mishra Ji, Smt. Gitanjali Lal, Smt. Nandini Singh, Sh. Jai Kishan Maharaj, Sh. Rajendra Kumar Gangani, Kumudini Lakhiya and Smt. Vaswati Mishra among others. She worked as a dance assistance of guru Sh. Krishan Mohan Mishra Maharaj in Krishna Priya Kala Kendra, Raipur. She has performed for dance festivals across India under prestigious banners. Her achievements and awards include the scholarship of Kathak Kendra, New Delhi and the Rajendradeep Samman from Purvai Sanskriti Kala Kendra. She is a graded artist from Delhi Doordarshan and an empaneled artist of ICCR, New Delhi. She has worked as a Kathak Dance Teacher in Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya for 2 year. She worked as an assistant choreographer in Saraswati Shishu Mandir School in Delhi. Presently she is working as a Kathak Dance Teacher and Choreographer in Sangeet Bharti and Kathak Nrityalaya, New Delhi.
