Kavya is a Kuchipudi dancer, choreographer and teacher hailing from Kerala. She started learning dance at the tender age of 9. For more than 8 years she trained in Mohiniyattam and Kuchipudi for Kerala Kalamandalam. She is currently pursuing her Masters in performing Arts at the University of Hyderabad in Kuchipudi. She has 15 years of practical and theoretical experience in classical dance and has performed at over 400 stages around India. She completed her Masters in Kuchipudi under the tutelage of Pro. Anuradha Jonnalagadda and Pro. Aruna Bhikshu at Hyderabad. She is trained in more than two dance forms including Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam. Her vision is to spread the essence of Kuchipudi and other South Indian Classical dance forms across the world. She has done her Masters in Performing Arts, Kuchipudi, from the University of Hyderabad.She has graduated from Kerala Kalamandalam in 2017 with special training in Mohiniyattam. Kavya started her training under Manoj Kumar Kalyad at a very young age. Seeing her passion and skill he encouraged her to join at the Kerala Kalamandalam and she got selected at the Kalamandalam in the year 2009. She received training at the Kalamandalam from the well-known artists Kala including Hymavathy (Mohiniyattam), Kala, Dr. Rajita Ravi (Mohiniyattam), Kala, Latika (Mohiniyattam), Kala, Rajalakshmi (Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam), Kala, Sangeetha (Mohiniyattam), Kala, Sujatha (Mohiniyattam). She completed her Masters under the tutelage of Guru Dr. Anuradha Jonnalagadda and Dr. Aruna Bhikshu. She has been trained in Abhinaya under Kala Krishna ever since. Kavya has received various awards including the Nritya Mayuri Award in 2012, Kala Kshemavati Teacher Endowmentin 2015, Kala Satyabhama Teacher Endowment in 2016 and Balakrishnakurup Award in 2017.
