Karthika is a Kuchipudi danseuse, choreographer and teacher, hailing from Perinthalmanna, Kerala. She started learning dance at a tender age of 3 years. Her first performance was at the age of four which was highly appreciated with a standing ovation by the audience. Having undergone rigorous training at the Kerala Kalamandalam University for more than 8 years, she is currently pursuing her Masters in Performing Arts at the University of Hyderabad in Kuchipudi stream. With a performance career spanning over 19 years, she has given dance recitals at over 300 stages around India. Currently she is under the tutelage of Prof. Anuradha Jonnalagadda and Prof. Aruna Bhikshu at Hyderabad. She is one of the rare artists who have trained in more than two art forms-namely Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi. Karthika has completed her Masters in Performing Arts, Kuchipudi in 2019 from the University of Hyderabad. She has graduated from Kerala Kalamandalam in 2017 with special training in Mohiniyattam. She has performed on over 300 stages pan India. Karthika started her training under her aunt Kalamandalam Ambika at a very young age. She joined the prestigious Kalamandalam, Kerala in the year 2009. She got rigorous training at Kalamandalam from well-known artists Kala including Hymavathi (Mohiniyattam), Kala Dr. Rajitha Ravi (Mohiniyattam), Kala. Lathika (Mohiniyattam), Kala Rajalakshmi (Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam), Kala Sangeetha (Mohiniyattam), Kala Sujatha (Mohiniyattam). She is currently under the tutelage of Guru Dr. Anuradha Jonnalagadda and Dr. Aruna Bhikshu. She has been exploring the nuances of Abhinaya under Abhinaya Kala Krishna ever since. She is trained in the musical aspects of performing arts under the guidance of Prof. Shiva Raju and the theatrical and technical aspects of dance under Prof. Nagabhushan.
