Hrishikesh Karmarkar has appeared for and completed Visharad Pratham exam from Gandharva Sangeet Mahavidyalaya. Hrishikesh started learing vocals from his mother. He took basic lessons from Pandit Jayantji Indurkar and formally started learning classical vocal music from Pt. Subhash Kashalkar. He also started practising Dilruba at home and got guidance from Shri Shirish Bhalerao (Top grade Radio staff artist) and is currently learning Dilruba solo from him. Hrishikesh has received the Lata Mangeshkar Puraskar from Ushakal Theatres in the competition Zakle Manik and was the winner of intercollegiate UCN Battle of Talent. He was among the top 15 contestants of Zee Sangeet Samrat for playing Dilruba and got wide appreciation. Hrishikesh also qualified for the zonal level from RTMNU Nagpur University for Hindustani Classical vocal and Dilruba solo twice. He came first in intercollegiate Ghazal competition in Nagpur. He has performed many Classical and light music concerts all over Maharashtra.
