Chirasri Roy is a Kolkata-based Odissi dancer currently pursuing advanced training under the tutelage of the eminent Smt. Kakali Bose. She is also deepening her understanding of Marga Parampara under the guidance of Sangeet Natak Academy awardee Sri Piyal Bhattacharya. She holds an M.A. in Philosophy from Presidency University, Kolkata, and a Diploma in Natyasastra from Mahatma Gandhi University, Aurangabad. She is a graded artiste of Doordarshan and achieved the B High-grade qualification in Odissi from Prasar Bharati. She is also the recipient of the Senior National Scholarship in Odissi from the Ministry of Culture, India. She has also performed at prestigious events such as the Udayshankar Nrityotsav and the Nrutya Naivedya Dance Festival in India and recently has visited Nepal for a tour of ICCR.
