Athira Sankar is a trained artist in both Bharathnatyam and Mohiniyattam and is the disciple of Guru Smt Sreedevi Rajan (D/O Guru Kalamandala Kalyani Kuttiyamma and Padma Shri Guru Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair). She has been performing in and around the country for over 15 years now. Along with her BA.LLB (Hons) degree from School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore, she completed BA Diploma in Bharatanatyam from Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts under Bharathidasan University, Thiruchirapilli. At present she is under the mentorship of Smt. Manju V Nair of Lokya Space for Arts in Bharatanatyam. Currently, she is fully invested in solo performances and further studies in classical art forms after quitting her corporate career. Athira Sankar is the artistic director of Aatma Space for Dance focusing mainly on Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam. Athira has been a part of some of the amazing dance performances around the globe and has been a Doordarshan Grade B artist for both Mohiniyattam and Bharatnatyam. She has bagged the title of Kalathilakam multiple times in All Kerala State CBSE Youth Festivals and Suvarna Sindhooram Award by Chakkulathukavu Temple.
